Life’s an experience. Live It!

People travel for a variety of reasons — relaxation, education, adventure, work (yuck!) to name a few.  I always thought that I would travel when I got old and retired.  Wrong.  I once met an 80-year old British woman at the top of the Acropolis.  Who’s to say that I’ll be physically able to do that?  Will you?  I travel because I have a burning desire to experience new things, see new places, eat new foods.  I travel because the sea turtles of Akumal, the Rock of Gibraltar, the vineyards of Tuscany, the castles of Germany won’t come to me.  I travel because life’s too short not to.

I categorize my travels as either a relaxing or a working vacation.  A relaxing vacation is just what it sounds like.  Around some quality beach time we’ll visit sites like the slave huts in Bonaire and the California Lighthouse in Aruba or we’ll helicopter over the Montserrat volcano.  A working vacation is walking for miles through the streets of Lisbon or Florence (but we always stop for a gelato or glass of wine) or hiking the trail along the Cinque Terre.  Either way, it’s an experience.

I hope that I’ve whetted your appetite for adventure.  Stay tuned for recaps of our adventures.
