Sunsets are like underwear — everyone has his favorite, and they change every day. In my case, there’s a handful of favorites — some are red, some are blue, some are even purplish. They almost all glow. I like glowing. Call me fickle. Call me strange. Just call me when there’s a sunset. I’m not alone, and I know that.
Here are some of my favorite ones from around the world. Enjoy.
Santorini — on an island known for its sunsets, this was one for the ages. This was taken through an open doorway.Antigua — maybe it’s the abstractness (is that a word?) of this but it makes me reflect on life (yeesh!).Marbella, Spain — one of my absolute favorite photos. I have this on my wall in my bedroom. This was taken the day we arrived after a very long day (or two — I hate connecting flights).
I also like sunrises and moon shots, but they have no place here.
Near Manasquan, NJ – Went for a boat ride with some friends on the Manasquan River and was able to get a few nice shots of the sun going down. Of course, the engine died and we had to be towed.Santa-set, Wilmington, NC. Santa, Old Glory, water, sunset. What more can you ask for?
One of the best parts of this trip was being able to sit on the beach, in shorts, in December.
Porto Sisi, Crete — I had to climb down a series of rocks to get the optimal angle for this. Mother Nature at her finest.St. Maarten — taken as the sun set over Maho Beach on another glorious day in Paradise.
Let’s hope and pray that the islands of the Caribbean recover quickly.
Antigua – yes, again. I don’t know, it was a beautiful day.
Okay, let’s go for one more Antigua shot. Here goes…
Antigua Sunset — after a long day of sitting on the beach we were rewarded with this beauty.
